Question:
If a poor Muslim cannot afford to get married or meet his basic needs for a decent life and may end up seeking to satisfy these needs through impermissible means.
On the other hand, a wealthy Muslim has the means to get married and achieve financial security. What should the wealthy person do, and what should the poor person do. What alternatives are available to the poor person according to Islam and its principles?
May Allah reward you with all good on our behalf.
Answer:
In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful, and may peace and blessings be upon the best of messengers, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, the truthful, the trustworthy, who fulfilled his promises.
Dear brother, Islam shouldn’t be judged by the mistakes or shortcomings of Muslims. According to Islamic principles, every poor person should have his needs met. Historical recourses from the early Islamic period describe times when the funds kept in the treasury at the Umayyad Mosque were so abundant that there were periods when no poor person could be found in need of assistance.
Hence the solution lies in two things: sound Islamic upbringing and ensuring that the needs of the poor are met within society. A poor Muslim may attain, through his patience and perseverance, a rank that the wealthy person may never attain through his wealth alone.
